EFT

I have, during my career, suffered from “Stage fright” or “Performance anxiety” which I feel has really hindered me to be my very best, dare to be visible and grab opportunities (or even see them). Many people would be very surprised when I say this. I have had a good career with leading roles and outwardly successful. But inside I have been scared to death, never knowing if I could trust myself to even make a sound.

Needless to say I have tried for years to find a way to handle this. I have been in and out of therapy but nothing has really worked – until I tried “tapping”, or EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques. EFT is a technique where you tap on meridian points on the body, making the amygdala (the part of your brain that has the Fight-or-flight centre and produces adrenalin and cortisol) calm down and reduces the feeling of distress.

I am now studying to become a coach in this field and my plan is to integrate it with my vocal coaching and specialising in Stage fright/ Performance anxiety. But I would also coach people in EFT with other life-issues as well.

“Tapping provides relief from chronic pain, emotional problems, disorders, addictions, phobias, post traumatic stress disorder, and physical diseases. While Tapping is newly set to revolutionise the field of health and wellness, the healing concepts that it’s based upon have been in practice in Eastern medicine for over 5,000 years. Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques which utilise the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power”. (Thetappingsolution.com)
